HISTORY SOCIAL ACTIONS RENNER HERRMANN S.A.
SOCIAL ACTIONS

"Mãos amigas", an action of Metalgráfica Renner for social inclusion.

Metalgráfica Renner acts in order to provide better quality of life to all who work in the company and their families.

In 2002, we raised funds for the Instituto do Câncer Infantil no Rio Grande do Sul (ICI/RS - Institute of Child Cancer in Rio Grande do Sul), created the group Embalando Sonhos – formed by volunteer collaborators who help people in need – and donated the Ernst Ludwig Herrmann Square to city of Porto Alegre – a 4.000 m² area of woodland with native trees which is integrated to sports courts and resting areas with barbecues. Located in a central area of the capital, it is one of the most beautiful squares in town.

Adolescer Renner
Created in 2003, this program aims at integrating our families, companies and the community through preparing our employees’ children for life. It discusses matters important to our teenagers’ social, emotional and professional development. The subjects are dynamically approached in partnerships with members from the community (Sebrae, Junior Achievement, Universities, etc). It is open to teenagers from 15 to 18 years old, related to the company or not. Adolescents from communities in need also have access to program. The activities last nine months.

Férias Coloridas
Held during school recess, this program offers our employees’ children a combination of leisure and culture. On the first day, parents and children share experiences within the work environment of the company. On the second day, a visit to museums, zoo, farm-school, preservation areas, historical cities, etc. takes place. Children from 6 to 12 participate in the activities.

Renner Adventure
This program is an “adventure meeting” in which our employees’ children gather to work, through group activities and lectures, on specific themes such as solidarity, drugs, sexuality, family relations and citizenship. During winter vacation, weekend meetings are held for our employees’ kids who are from 11 to 14 years old.

Mãos Amigas
The main focus of the Friendly Hands program is Social Responsibility. Eight mentally challenged people are part of this program, in which their personal abilities are strengthen in every day life. We try to insert the group in every space of the company, from the manufacture of pieces for container assemblage to the expedition sector. We give them this opportunity and believe in their capacity of overcoming limitations.
We credit the success of this program to the inclusive culture of the company. We work to create awareness among our collaborators in order to promote social exchange and fight prejudice.
